Dustin Sykora, Varsity Head Coach

Sykora.JPGDustin Sykora is entering his 3rd year with the Marcus Baseball Program, 2nd year as the Head Coach (19-14). Coach Sykora was instrumental in leading the Marauders to a Class 5A Regional Semi-Finals appearance in 2010, where he served as the varsity assistant coach. During his 8-year career he has also coached at Waco Connally High School, Coppell High School, and West High School.

Coach Sykora played at McLennan Community College before transferring to Baylor University where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He currently teaches Biology at Marcus High School. Coach Sykora is married to his wife, Fallin.

"I am very thankful and extremely blessed to be the Head Baseball Coach at Marcus High School, one of the premier baseball programs in the state of Texas. I am honored to continue our winning tradition that has been established by all previous Marcus Baseball players. We are committed to working as hard as ever to accomplish our ultimate goal of winning the 5A State Championship. Support from our parents, community, and administration has played a pivotal role in the success of our program. I look forward to preparing our players for the upcoming season and want to thank all supporters of the Marcus Marauder Baseball Program.

Kevin Williamson, Varsity Assistant/Pitching Coach

Williamson.JPGCoach Williamson begins his second year with the Marcus baseball program. He played collegiate baseball at Arizona State University. He was drafted four times in the Major League Baseball Draft, including a first round selection by the Atlanta Braves. He played four years of professional baseball in the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees organization.

Coach Williamson began his coaching career as the pitching coach at the University of New Mexico. He has been a high school baseball coach for seventeen years. In 2004, he was named The Dallas Morning News, "Area Baseball Coach of the Year." He was a speaker at the 2006 National High School Baseball Coaches Association Convention in St. Louis.

Coach Williamson is a U.S. History teacher at Marcus and he also coaches football. Coach Williamson is married to Susie, and he is glad to be part of the Marcus Baseball program.

Ian Miles, Junior Varsity Head Coach

Miles.JPGCoach Miles is in his 5th year of coaching football and baseball. He currently teaches Algebra I and Geometry. This will be his 2nd year at Marcus High School. The first three years of his coaching/teaching career were at Wichita North High School in Kansas, coaching football and baseball. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Math from Sterling College (KS).

Coach Miles said, "I am very excited to be a part of the program for the 2nd year in a row. I am looking forward to working with the Junior Varsity and Varsity squads this year. We are anticipating a very successful season for the Marcus Baseball program."

Robbie Waters, Freshman Head Coach

Waters.JPGCoach Waters played football at Bethany College in Linsborg, KS and graduated from Oklahoma State University. This will be his 15th year teaching and coaching with his 1st year in Stillwater, Ok., 4 years in Cedar Hill, TX., 1 year in Pilot Point, TX., 2 years in Scottsdale, AZ., 2 years in Rockdale, TX., 3 years in Midlothian, TX., 1 year in Rio Vista, TX., and now is in his 2nd year at Marcus High School teaching Biology and coaching football and freshman baseball. He has been married 2 years to Karen Waters of San Antonio.

Josh Fuel, Freshman Assistant Coach

Fuel.JPGCoach Fuel is in his 9th year with Lewisville ISD with the past 7 years being at Marcus High School. Both of Coach Fuel's parents also work for LISD with his dad at Flower Mound High and mother at Shadow Ridge Middle School. He also has 3 siblings including brothers, Colin and Nick, who both serve in the US Army and sister, Hillary, who currently attends UTA.

Coach Fuel said, "I am looking forward to the 2012 season and the excitement that it will bring. Go Marcus Baseball!"
